”In order to be certified as a teacher, the Department of Education of Puerto Rico required the proficient approval of the national teacher exam known as Pruebas de Certificación de Maestros, or PCMAS. These are tests that measure the academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. This test is prepared and administered by the College Board of Puerto Rico. Some states in the USA have an agreement to validate PCMAS as their teaching requirement. Many other states required the approval of Praxis. These tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations”.
